Dawn Elkington

My career in financial services began in 1984 with Scottish Amicable (now Prudential), working with clients on their pensions and investments.

In 1996 I became an Independent Financial Adviser and worked for two Harrogate companies before joining Ellis Bates (now Shackleton) in 2003.

I am experienced in advising elderly clients and their families, particularly on long-term care and equity release. I believe in involving families in financial planning to make the best long-term decisions for their future.

I also advise on Group Pension Schemes and specialise in pension advice in relation to divorce.

I use simple, understandable language to help my clients understand the plans they have will work for them and help them to choose the best option.

I work with business owners, entrepreneurs and the self employed, offering a wide range of financial advice and planning services including group pensions schemes, group protection solutions, salary sacrifice set up and management, employee benefits packages and financial wellbeing services.

I work alongside the Equity Release, Protection and Wills and Trusts teams to offer you expert financial solutions and services, from starting your investment or pensions strategy journeys right up to protecting your family’s inheritance in later life – and everything in between.

I also work closely with our in-house independent Investment Team, who research, analyse and offer first class multi faceted investment propositions, with an extensive range of strategies to suit all risk appetites.

Outside of work, I enjoy swimming and cooking. I previously coached and judged synchronised swimming as well as competing myself. I married my partner Michael in 2016 who I met at high school and have 3 step children.
