Neil Mercier

I’ve worked in the financial services industry for over 30 years, 18 years of which I ran my own Independent Financial Advice practice in Horsham, West Sussex before joining Shackleton.

I am Diploma Qualified and have worked in most sectors of the pension, investment and life assurance industry in my time. I also hold a Level 4 qualification in Discretionary Investment Management.

I particularly enjoy working with private clients especially those who have more complex needs which may be planning retirement, business sales, transitional planning to the next generation or school fees and trusts.

I work with clients over many years, building cash flow models which make a real difference to a family’s wealth, especially those with children or grandchildren who want to pass on their assets in an organised and tax-efficient way.

Succession planning is especially rewarding where assets have been accrued within a family business.

Outside of financial services, I own and run a small family livestock farm and get huge enjoyment and satisfaction from this. There is no better feeling than a successful lambing season.
