In July 2024, Skerritts (one of the co-founders of Shackleton) announced the purchase of KMG Independent Limited and its sister firm KMG Investment Management Limited. Skerritts, now Shackleton, is headquartered in London and is a Chartered financial adviser and wealth manager.

The acquisition of KMG enhances Shackleton’s presence in the South East with an additional office in Horley and a group of new team members, bringing their expertise and experience into the business.

In March 2021, Sovereign Capital Partners, a UK private equity Buy & Build specialist, completed a significant investment in Skerritts, now Shackleton, worth £55 million to develop the business through a strategy of organic and acquisitive growth, which has seen the addition of new offices in Chester, Kent, Hampshire, Surrey, Yorkshire, Scotland and London.
